Heated insoles make the perfect remedy to get rid of cold feet at night caused by poor circulation, cold temperatures or unheated sleeping areas while camping. Heated insoles are also welcomed by workers such as policeman, crossing guards and postal carriers whose jobs cause them to spend the better part of their workday outdoors during chilly weather. Cold feet can actually make the entire foot ache with pain, but heated insoles provide warmth and comfort to the foot and leg area.

Heated insoles are inserts shaped to fit inside each shoe. Some models are bulkier than others due to interior wiring and these can prove uncomfortable if wearing for extended periods or using them primarily while standing. More comfortable heated insoles are very thin inserts that can be recharged by an external battery pack so that the heat emanating from the insole lasts at least 8 hours or longer.

The amount of heat the wearer receives from heated insoles is regulated by an internal thermometer in each insert that monitors if the temperature of the foot is less than 98.6 degrees. A mechanism is then triggered to release enough heat for a period time until the foot temperature rises to the body’s proper normal temperature. Some people may require more heat adjustment in one foot than the other, so each heated insole operates independently to keep the foot at a comfortable temperature.

Heated insoles are especially popular with campers and hikers to provide foot and leg comfort while out in the wilderness. Individuals who suffer from poor leg circulation due to diabetes, poor nutrition, being overweight or having high blood pressure, often experience sleepless nights due to pain and aching in the feet and legs due to cold feet. By replacing the inserts of a favorite pair of bedroom slippers with heated insoles which have been previously charged, they can enjoy keeping their feet comfortable and toasty warm throughout the night.

Be sure to purchase the right size of heated insoles for shoes or slippers because cutting them to fit will damage the circuity that delivers the heat. The sizes of heated insoles correspond to both men and women’s shoe sizes, ranging between 4.5 and 12 for men, and 5 and 12 for women.
